What
is Together for Lincoln?
Together for
Lincoln is a partnership consisting of over 15 area churches who
are committed to work together to share the love of Jesus Christ
by serving our community. Our first day of service will be on
Sunday, September 28, 2008. On that day, we will send dozens of
teams into the community to do everything from building
wheelchair ramps for individuals to visiting members of our
community who are in the nursing home. The day will conclude
with a community worship gathering in the evening.
What kinds of projects and activities will be selected?
Projects and
activities will be selected based upon the needs of those within
our community, as determined by submitted applications. The
projects may consist of construction needs such as painting,
wheelchair ramp construction, window installation, basic
electrical or plumbing repairs, home winterization, etc. The
activities will consist of several service opportunities ranging
from helping to provide food for the volunteers to raking leaves
for the elderly.

How can I submit a need?
Community members
are encouraged to fill out a project application for consideration.
We especially encourage Christians to consider unchurched people
whom they know to have a specific need and to fill out an
application on their behalf. Applications are available from each
participating church. They will also soon be available from several
local businesses and agencies, as well as on our website,
www.togetherforlincoln.org

How can I help?
First, mark your
calendars for Sunday, September 28. Then, fill out a Volunteer
Sign-Up form that are available from participating churches, as well
as on our website. After you fill out a form, we will contact you to
further communicate specifically how you can help. Also, please
continue to check our monthly updates for specific needs that will
arise where you may be able to help or contribute.
