Humane
Society has great news.
Kinder,
a miniature pinscher/Chihuahua, was adopted on Friday, April 3,
by a lady from Clinton, Ill. Kinder's idea of heaven is a blanket to
snuggle under, so she insisted on taking her old blanket with her.
Her new forever companion will make sure she can snuggle …
preferably beside her. Kinder has spent a great deal of time in
foster care and is very grateful to her foster home for the love
and care that was given.
The importance and value of our foster homes to our success
cannot be measured. They are the lifeline for our animals. If you
would like to foster a dog, cat, kitten or puppy for HSLC, e-mail us
at adopt@hslclincoln.org
or call us at 217-737-4042. We provide guidance, food and animal
supplies as well as pay all medical costs! There are few acts more
heartwarming than helping to save the life of a loving, innocent
creature in need.

Happy ending: Wednesday night in Springfield one of
HSLC's members rescued a 4-year-old beagle that was darting in and
out of traffic. Because of the late hour, Scooter was brought back
to Lincoln and placed in a temporary foster home. Our Animal Affairs
Committee called Animal Control in Springfield and placed an ad in
the State Journal-Register. The ad appeared Sunday, and Scooter was
back home by early afternoon. The family was extremely grateful.
Their daughter is confined to a wheelchair and was devastated by the
loss of Scooter. Scooter is pictured below.
The
annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Lincoln Park District
will be April 11 on the driving range if the weather is good. If
not, the event will be on the indoor courts. The address is 1400
Primm Road and the hunt starts at 10 a.m.
