[April 16, 2009]  DETROIT (AP) -- Mourners celebrated the life of gospel music family patriarch David "Pop" Winans Sr. at services in his native Detroit.

Services for Winans were held Tuesday and Wednesday at Perfecting Church, where his son, Marvin, is senior pastor.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson attended Wednesday's service, where family members told stories about Winans and his life.

Winans was a Grammy-nominated gospel singer married to Delores "Mom" Winans and father to BeBe and CeCe Winans, known for their hits "Addictive Love" and "I'll Take You There," as well as four other children who performed as The Winans.

David Winans died April 8 at a Nashville, Tenn., hospice at age 74 after suffering a heart attack and stroke last year.
