Kansas man charged with stealing woman's underwear

[April 16, 2009]  HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) -- Police charged a 48-year-old man with breaking into a 23-year-old woman's apartment and stealing her underwear.

Sgt. John Moore said Monday the woman told police she arrived home Friday to find her neighbor coming out of her bedroom, naked. She called police, who arrested the man trying to leave his apartment in possession of a pair of the woman's panties.

The man was facing two counts of aggravated burglary because the woman was accompanied by her child when she walked in on him. He was also charged with theft, as well as lewd and lascivious behavior.

Moore said the woman had not been staying in her apartment recently because she suspected someone had been entering her bedroom and going through her underwear drawer.
