The Lincoln
College Student Senate is going green. In an effort to support
environment awareness, the organization is planning a five-day event
that will entertain, inform and encourage students to think about
taking care of the environment. Student Senate members are kicking
off a "Green Week"
today.

Erica
Glenn, a member from Homewood, said the focus of the group's efforts
is appreciation of the environment. "The entire campus community
pulled together to sponsor an event that helps the environment or
brings awareness to going green. I am hopeful that our student body
will support this," said Glenn. Danielle Stanley, who chairs the
committee for the project, along with committee members Jaydeh Sleh
and Amanda Turner have organized activities supported by interest
groups from across the campus. The planned activities include a
student entertainment forum hosted by the LC Fine Arts Department,
the movies "Erin Brockovich" and "An Inconvenient Truth," a
scavenger hunt and sort organized by the Student Senate and Student
Services, a vegetarian dinner planned and prepared by the college
food service, and a community cleanup, sponsored by the LC Athletics
Department, for Lincoln Memorial Park. In addition, sign-up
opportunities will be available for a new Environmental Club on the
Lincoln College campus.
