Lucky Six drawing dates, Lincoln Youth Wrestling, Erich Maxheimer and Jordyn Lindsey Hull make Close Up

[December 15, 2009]  The two dates for the last two drawings of the current Lucky 6 program have been announced. The January drawing will be at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at the K of C. The February drawing will be at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, at the K of C.

Lincoln Youth Wrestling results from the Springfield Capital Classic wrestling tournament Dec. 13:

Erich Maxheimer, son of Mike and Suzie Maxheimer of Chestnut and a member of Boy Scout Troop 122, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Maxheimer is a senior at Mount Pulaski High School and an honor student. He is a member of the baseball team, National Honor Society, student council, WYSE, Science Olympiad, yearbook staff and Spanish Club. He was chosen as the September Senior-of-the-Month at MPHS.

Erich began his scouting career in Cub Scouts and became a member of Boy Scout Troop 122 under the leadership of Greg Maus in 2003. He was elected to the Order of the Arrow, a scouting honor society, by his peers; has earned 24 merit badges; traveled twice to Cache Lake in Canada; and went on two treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, where he served as crew leader in 2009.

His Eagle Scout project was completed this summer and involved the designing, planning and creating of a handicap parking area at North Park in Mount Pulaski. This project was funded and supported by the Mount Pulaski Park District. Support was also given by the city of Mount Pulaski, Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Contractors Ready Mix, Don Wilham, Tom Lowe and Norm Maxheimer.

After graduation, Erich plans to attend the University of Illinois College of Engineering and be in the Air Force ROTC.

In recognition of Erich's achievements, a court of honor was held on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the First Christian Church in Mount Pulaski.

The 1st State Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Jordyn Lindsey Hull with the November Student of the Month Award. For demonstrating outstanding character, Jordyn receives a $50 savings bond from 1st State Bank and a reference work appropriate to her course of study from the Illini Central High School faculty.

Jordyn is the daughter of David and Annett Hull. Her classes this year are Human Physiology, Spanish 4, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Literature and Composition, PE, and Foods.

In addition, Jordyn keeps busy with several extracurricular activities. She is a member of Spanish Club, Science Club, Photography Club, Science Olympiad, National Honor Society, Future Career/Community Leaders of America and student council. She was also honored with the Principal’s Leadership Award.

Outside of school, Jordyn is a team leader in her youth group.

Jordyn plans to attend ICC and then transfer to Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she will study to become a veterinarian.
