Police: 2 adults, 2 children slain in Utah apt.

[December 18, 2009]  WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) -- Two adults and two children were found dead in their West Jordan apartment complex in what authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.

A man and a woman along with two young boys were found dead around 8:45 p.m. Thursday in a unit at the Willow Cove Apartment complex, West Jordan Police Sgt. Drew Sanders said.

Sanders said that police believe it was a family, but had not confirmed the relationship of the victims. Early reports described the dead as family members. The identities of the dead were not immediately released.

Police received a call regarding trouble and discovered the bodies after entering the home to check on the family, he said.

Neighbors called police after hearing gunshots, but there was no official word on how the four died.

Willow Cove resident Brandi Coles, 20, said she and her mother were watching television in her apartment and heard what they believed to be gunshots.

"They were quick shots, sporadic," she told the Deseret News.
