| The awards are sponsored by the chamber's executive committee. This
campaign is designed to recognize outstanding achievement and
promote positive awareness. For every parcel of rundown property,
for every stagnant business and for every inactive citizen, there
are many examples of positive contribution, action, impact and
involvement that deserve to be acknowledged. Awards will be presented during the chamber's annual dinner on
Jan. 23. All nominations are due by Jan. 2. Awards are being given
out for Small Business of the Year (50 or fewer employees), Large
Business of the Year (more than 50 employees), New Business of the
Year, Volunteer of the Year, Beautification and Excellence in
Service. To be eligible to receive one of the above awards,
businesses or individuals must be a member of the Lincoln/Logan
County Chamber of Commerce in good standing. The Excellence in Service Award is new this year and is awarded
for a business that demonstrates a commitment to the community, to
its customers and its employees 100 percent of the time. Pride & Progress winners from the annual dinner in 2009: Small
Business of the Year, Christian Child Care; Large Business of the
Year, Lincoln College; Mike Abbott Volunteer of the Year, Roy Logan
and Marcia Greenslate; Beautification Award, Best Western Lincoln
Inn; and New Business of the Year, Hampton Inn. Nominations can be made by contacting the chamber at
217-735-2385, at 1555 Fifth St. or at
