Woonsocket police officials told The Providence Journal the siblings sneaked a genuine Family Court document with a date to appear in court from a relative, scanned the letter and forged the name of a clinical case manager.
Police said the brother, a 16-year-old Woonsocket High School student, used the forgery to get out of school once in November.
His 17-year-old sister, a pupil at the Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center, allegedly used the letter three times in January.
Police arrested the siblings Wednesday, charging the brother with one count of forgery and the sister with three counts. They're expected in Family Court next week.
