[January 12, 2009]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Jan. 10: 

TOASTERS 

Viking Range Corp. is recalling Four-Slice Electric Toasters sold nationwide from April 2005 to November 2008. Wiring inside the toaster can become loose and contact the toaster body, posing a shock hazard. 

The recall involves Viking Professional Four-Slot Toasters, model numbers VT400WH, VT400BK, VT400GG, VT400SG, VT400BR and VT400CB. The toaster has a label on its underside that states in part, "Viking, UL Listed 73D3, Viking Range Corporation, Model VT400 Series." 

Consumers should contact Viking at (888) 267-4460 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to obtain a free replacement toaster or visit www.vikingrange.com. More info at www.recalls.org

JARDINE CRIBS 

Jardine Enterprises is recalling Jardine Cribs sold nationwide from March 2004 to January 2009. The wooden crib slats can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard. 

This recall involves three models of Jardine wooden cribs with the date codes identified below. The date code and model number are printed on the label located on the inside of the bottom rail of the headboard or footboard.

GIRLS' HOODED JACKETS 

Ms. Bubbles Inc. is recalling Girls Blue Denim Passport Jackets sold nationwide from August 2007 to December 2007. The jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. 

The recalled blue denim jackets have a white terrycloth underlay lining and drawstring. The jackets were sold in children's sizes medium (7-10), large (11-14) and x-large (15-16). Style number BF1400 KP is printed on the hang tag attached to the garment. 

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to the place of purchase or to Ms. Bubbles Inc. to receive a refund.

BICYCLE FORKS 

SRAM LLC is recalling Bicycles using RockShox Domain 302 and 318 bicycle forks sold nationwide from March 2008 to November 2008. The steel steerer on the forks can crack, causing the fork to detach from the bicycle frame. This can cause the rider to lose control and crash. 

The recall involves RockShox Domain 302 and 318 bicycle forks with steel steerer sold for installation on new bicycles. Only those forks manufactured between March 2008 and October 2008 with dates codes 09T8 through 42T8 are included in this recall. The date code is located on the back of the fork crown and on the lower leg. The RockShox Domain fork was installed on Transition Bottle Rocket bicycles, and may have been installed on Rocky Mountain Flatline 1, Rocky Mountain Slayer SS350, and Rocky Mountain Slayer SS396 bicycles. 

Consumers should contact their bicycle retailer for a free replacement fork.
