[January 22, 2009]  The Lincoln College men's basketball team defeated Spoon River 119-73 in a home game Wednesday evening. The Lynx move their record to 13-6, 6-0 in the conference.

"It was a great game for us after the first four minutes in the first half," said Lincoln coach Kirk Whiteman. "We gave up 17 points during the first 3 minutes and 30 seconds. After that defensive lapse to start, I thought we played well. We were behind three points with 16:23 in the first half and went on a 25-22 run to open up the game.

"Our focus was to take good shots and not turn the ball over. Our stat guys had us for 32 assists and only three turnovers -- that is amazing! I might have to double-check those stats.

"We got great performances from everyone. Colby Johnson had nine assists, Augusta six and Adams five. Don Gavin led all scorers with 26 points, and we got a total of 60 points inside the paint.

"We have a tough test on the road Saturday at John Wood."
