[January 22, 2009]  Yesterday at 4:31 p.m. police were dispatched to a Lincoln residence where an individual was arrested for residential burglary.

RestaurantLincoln Police Department officers responded and secured the scene. During the search of the home, officers located Troy Martinie, of 207 Willard Ave., hiding in a bedroom closet. Martinie was arrested and charged with residential burglary and taken to the Logan County Jail.

The Logan County Sheriff's Department assisted the city police officers.

This is another case where citizens in the area observed a crime in progress and immediately called 911. This immediate notification and the quick response by police resulted in the arrest.

The Lincoln Police Department appreciates the actions of the witnesses and encourages all citizens to call 911 whenever they observe any potential criminal activity.
