Birdie Farr said she bought the roast from a Bag
'N Save store in York in April 2007. She sued the grocer in York County District Court, filing in October. She seeks $11,500 for medical expenses plus legal costs.
Bag 'N Save denies responsibility, saying it never altered the meat, short of dividing it into individual packages.
The grocer said that if what Farr alleges occurred, the originator of the meat, Farmland Foods, is responsible.
Bag 'N Save wants the case dismissed.
A phone message left with Farmland Foods representatives was not immediately returned Friday.
