Woman, 72, says man in underwear tried to break in

[July 07, 2009]  ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) -- Police said a 72-year-old woman woke up to discover a 27-year-old man dressed only in underwear trying to get into her house. A police report said the man was booked with burglary early Sunday.

The report noted the man appeared to be under the influence of an illegal substance, talking oddly and acting nervous.

The officer found clothing in the woman's back yard, but the suspect allegedly told the officer he wasn't wearing any when he entered.
