The returning troops will be escorted by the Lincoln Fire Department
and Lincoln police from Steak n Shake on Woodlawn Road up to Old
Route 66, as they make their way to the Veterans of Foreign Wars
building at 915 Fifth St. There they will enjoy a "welcome home"
party thrown by the Lincoln Military Support Group and the city of
Lincoln. The celebration will include cake, soda and a brief
ceremony by the mayor pro tem. The community is encouraged to come
and line the escort route around 2:45 p.m. and welcome our soldiers
home, as well as join in the celebration at the VFW.
