[June 04, 2009]  HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) -- Authorities said Bessie Lou Phillips was so mad her brother was sentenced to life in prison for scamming an elderly woman she followed the victim and rammed her car.

Phillips, 42, was charged Tuesday with attempted aggravated assault after the unidentified victim was rammed.

Police said Phillips is the sister of 41-year-old Manuel Cooper, who had just been sentenced to life without parole for obtaining money under false pretenses.

Hernando Police Chief Mike Riley said Phillips followed the victim from the courthouse "then used her car to ram the car of the victim."

Riley said bond for Phillips was set at $150,000. It wasn't immediately clear if she'd hired a lawyer.

Cooper was sentenced as a habitual criminal.
