[June 12, 2009]  NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- New Haven police said a claim of swine flu threw confusion into a domestic dispute and stalled an arrest.

Police say they had gone to a home to arrest a 16-year-old, but a woman in the house told them that the home was under quarantine for swine flu. Police put on face masks, and a prisoner van arrived but refused to take the teen after hearing about the swine flu claim.

Police said Wednesday that as it turned out the house was not under quarantine and the teen was eventually taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
