The John M. Webb Lectureship on Preaching was established to honor
the contributions of Dr. John M. Webb (1916-1982), who served the
college as professor of preaching and academic dean of Lincoln
Christian College and Seminary from 1956-1975. He was later named
dean emeritus by the board of trustees. Dr. Joseph M. Webb
graduated from LCC in 1964. He holds a master's degree in journalism
and a doctorate in communications from the University of Illinois.
He also holds a master's degree in theological studies from Emory
University as well as a doctorate in ministry from Claremont School
of Theology. He has had a 40-year teaching career and served in
administration at Pepperdine University, Southern Illinois
University and the California State University system. He is
currently on the communication studies faculty at Gardner-Webb
University in North Carolina.
Dr. John D. Webb, also an alumnus of LCC and LCS, received his
doctorate from Ohio State University. He has taught at Crossroads
Christian College, Ohio State University, California State
University in Fullerton and Fuller Theological Seminary. He
currently serves as the chairman of the communications department at
Hope International University in Fullerton, Calif.
Both guest lecturers have also served in numerous part-time and
full-time ministries over the years.
