[May 26, 2009]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending May 23: 

BICYCLE FRAMES 

Norco Performance Bikes is recalling Bicycle Frames sold nationwide from September 2006 to February 2009. The bicycle frame can crack and separate, causing a rider to fall from the bicycle and suffer injuries. 

The recalled bicycle frames include the following model year and model names: 2007 Team DH, 2008 Team DH, Aline Park, Aline, Atomik, Shore 1,2,3, 2009 Atomik (without gussets). All colors are included in the recall and the model name is printed on a decal on the top tube of each frame/bike. 

All owners should contact a local Norco dealer or Norco directly for information regarding receiving a possible replacement frame.

TREK BICYCLES 

Trek Bicycle Corp. is recalling Bicycles with JD suspension forks sold nationwide from August 2008 to April 2009. The recalled bicycle's fork can lose alignment causing the front wheel to turn unexpectedly. This can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and crash. 

The recall involves model year 2009 Trek 7300, 7300WSD, and 7500 bicycles. The model name is printed on the bicycle's frame. The bicycles have a suspension fork with the words "Bontrager SPA" printed on them. 

Consumers should contact their dealer to arrange for a free repair.

CANNONDALE BICYCLES 

Cannondale Bicycle Corp. is recalling Bicycles with JD suspension forks sold at Cannondale dealers from February 2009 to April 2009. The recalled bicycle's fork can lose alignment causing the front wheel to turn unexpectedly. This can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and crash. 

The recall involves model year 2008 Cannondale Adventure 2, Adventure 3, Adventure 2 Feminine and Adventure 3 Feminine bicycles. The model name is printed on the bicycle's frame. The bicycles have a suspension fork with the words "cannondale AT35 adventure trail" printed on them. 

Consumers should contact their dealer to arrange for a free repair.

GIRLS' HOODED SWEATSHIRTS 

Ely and Walker is recalling Cumberland Outfitters Girl's Hooded Sweatshirts sold  nationwide from April 2007 to April 2009. The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. 

This recall involves Cumberland Outfitters girl's hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings. The sweatshirts were sold in four colors (melon, white, purple, and turquoise) and in sizes XS to L. RN number 14119 and one of the following style numbers are printed on the care label: 561560EC, 561565CO, 561570RA and 561575TU. 

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard. Consumers can also return the garment to either the place of purchase or to Ely and Walker for a full refund.

TEA/COFFEEMAKERS 

Bunn-O-Matic Corp. is recalling Bunn® Single Cup Pod Brewers sold nationwide from August 2004 to March 2009. The pod drawer of the pod brewer can open unexpectedly during a brew cycle, posing a burn hazard. 

This recall involves Bunn® Single Pod Brewers. Models included in the recall are MCP (My Café Pourover) and MCA (My Café Automatic). The pod brewers have a black body with stainless backsplash and measure 12 inches high by 8 inches wide. "Bunn®" is printed on the front and lights up when the pod brewer is on. 

Consumers should contact Bunn-O-Matic at (800) 741-3405 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday to obtain two replacement pod drawers or visit www.bunn.com. More info at www.recalls.org

BENCHES 

Ross Stores Inc. is recalling 39" St. Anne Acacia Benches sold at Ross stores nationwide in March 2009. The bench frame can collapse when weight is placed on it, posing a fall hazard. 

The benches are made of acacia wood with SKU 400037765413 and manufacturer style number GB1F printed on a hangtag attached to the bench. The acacia wood benches measure 39" wide, 20" deep and 36" high. 

Consumers should return the benches to any Ross Store for a full refund.

SAMSUNG CELL PHONES 

Samsung Telecommunications America is recalling "Jitterbug" Cell Phones sold nationwide from March 2008 to May 2009. The recalled cell phones that are in a no-service area and display an "out of range, try again later" message could fail to connect to emergency 911. 

This recall involves "Jitterbug" cell phones model numbers SPH-a110 and SPH-a120 with standard keypads and version BB14 software. 

Samsung and Jitterbug are directly contacting consumers to schedule a free software upgrade. Consumers should call Samsung at (866) 304-4980 between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. CT Monday through Friday if they have not already been contacted or visit www.samsung.com. More info at www.recalls.org.
