Lincoln
Special Olympics is having their second annual basketball
tournament. Last year, the tournament brought 25 teams and over 400
people to the Lincoln Park District for the one-day event. This year
people are coming from as far as
Danville
and Rushville to participate. Volunteers and spectators from the
community are welcome to come to Rec Center on Saturday, Nov. 7. The
first game starts at
8 a.m. and the last game will begin at
4 p.m.
Junior
Railer Boys Basketball registrations are now being accepted at
the Lincoln Park District. Sign up at the front or back desk.
This is for boys in first through sixth grades. Get graded on
dribbling, shooting, passing, one-on-one and three-on-three. Grading
will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Lincoln Park District
Sports Center. The season will start on Saturday, Dec. 5, and run
through February. All games will be played at the Indoor Sports
Center. No admission will be charged.
The park district's November Sports Center incentive is a
complimentary seven-day, full-access membership. They are extending
this to potential members who might be interested in joining and
would like to experience what the park district has to offer. This
trial pass will allow participants to experience aerobic and spin
classes, the walking track, basketball-volleyball courts, along with
the cardio equipment and free weights. Each participant is eligible
only once, age restrictions will apply, and the pass is
nontransferable. This complimentary membership will be available at
the front desk during regular business hours. Remember, life begins
with fitness.
