[November 10, 2009]  The Quilters at Heart Quilt Guild will have their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 (third Thursday due to Thanksgiving holiday). The program is a Christmas ornament kit to make. Also, bring "goodies" for a snack as we celebrate the holidays! This night will the last meeting in 2009. The Lincoln Jaycees are now accepting reservations for their annual Senior Feast. The Lincoln Jaycees are serving a free holiday-style meal with dessert on Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Center, 2022 N. Kickapoo St. The meal is available to seniors, age 60 and up. To make a reservation or to inquire about delivery options, call Jennifer Steele at 217-871-7981 as soon as possible.


Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 1140 N. State St. in Lincoln will have a chili and vegetable soup supper Saturday, Nov. 14. The chili or soup meal is $5. Homemade dessert and drink are included. A hot dog meal is $3. The time is 4-7 p.m.


The Lincoln Kiwanis will have their annual spaghetti dinner at the American Legion, 1740 Fifth St., on Saturday, Nov. 14, between 4:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will go to help youth groups in Logan County.


Home Based Business Expo, sponsored by the Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County, is Sunday, Nov. 15. Get a jump on your holiday shopping. Vendors of various home-based businesses such as Tupperware, Mary Kay and many more will be on hand to take orders, showcase merchandise and book parties. Cash and carry, door prizes and food. It is at the American Legion, 1740 Fifth St. in Lincoln, and the hours are from noon to 5 p.m.
