3rd annual Christmas Extravaganza scheduled for Mission Mart

[November 19, 2009]  Mission Mart thrift store in Lincoln is celebrating Christmas with its third annual Christmas Extravaganza the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. Families can come to see Santa and enjoy free contests and prizes.

HardwareKids can participate in coloring contests and win a prize by guessing how many Christmas M&M's are in the jar. There will be drawings every hour on the hour and free Christmas cookies. Santa will be in the store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 27 to meet with children. From 3 to 5 p.m. there will be a free workshop where customers can make Christmas tree ornaments.

Families and local businesses can adopt also adopt Christmas trees to decorate. Decorated trees will be sold by silent auction, with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefiting the homeless served by Home Sweet Home Ministries. The silent auction ends Nov. 28 at noon.

The festivities run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 27 and 28. Mission Mart is located at 616 Broadway St. in Lincoln. Additional information is available at www.missionmart.org.

Mission Mart is owned and operated by Home Sweet Home Ministries, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit interdenominational Christian organization serving homeless and low-income individuals and families in Bloomington through a variety of programs. Founded in 1917, Home Sweet Home provides numerous services 24 hours daily, 365 days a year.
