Danny Ray Olsen, 62, said he took a wrong turn in Ogden and got his 1998 Nissan Sentra high-centered between two sets of rails Monday evening. He said he saw lights approaching in his rearview mirror and decided to get out.
Utah Transit Authority officials estimate the northbound FrontRunner train was traveling about 55 mph as it approached. The operator hit the emergency brake but there wasn't enough room to stop. The train hit the car, pushing it more than 100 yards down the track.
The train was nearly empty. No one was injured and no citations were issued.
