Harris' attorney, Steve Skelton,
said that he was asking that the preliminary hearing for Jason be
held over to Oct. 28 at 1:45 p.m., and his request
was granted.
Christopher Harris is also
scheduled to appear in court Oct. 28, at 1:15 in the
afternoon.
Jason Harris arrived at the
Logan County Courthouse quietly, accompanied only by Logan County
Sheriff Steve Nichols and two guards.
As he waited his turn in court,
he was placed in the usual holding room, with several members of the
sheriff's department as well as Lincoln city police standing watch
outside.
Several members of his family
were present for the hearing. As the proceedings came to an end
and Harris stood to exit, he turned to two men sitting on the far side
of the room, smiled and said, "Love you guys."
He was then escorted out of the
room while city police Chief Stuart Erlenbush stood at the courtroom
door, allowing no one to exit the room until Harris was out of sight.
