[October 16, 2009]
The Lincoln Public Library and
Lincoln Police Department are sponsoring a second Child ID Day on
Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. The Oct. 15 turnout was quite large, and
due to computer problems, some families were asked to return. If you
missed the first day or wish to return to finish the process, please
visit the library Oct. 22.

Parents may bring children to the library annex to receive a packet
to be used in locating missing children. Recommended ages are 3 to
13 years old. Parents are asked to bring the child's date of birth
and Social Security number for inclusion in the material. An officer
will take digital fingerprints and photos to be used in the packet,
which is then given to the parents to keep. There is no charge,
but those who wish to participate are asked to arrive at the library
no later than 5:45 p.m.
