[October 22, 2009]  Sally Litterly announced Wednesday that she will seek re-election to the office of Logan County clerk and recorder. Elected in 1994, Litterly will complete her fourth term in December 2010.

"As Logan County clerk and recorder I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve the people of my community," Litterly said. "I sincerely appreciate the support and confidence Logan County has placed in me as their clerk, and I intend continue to serve proactively, with an innovative vision toward the future."

Litterly is the mother of two children, Michael and Morgan, and resides in Elkhart. She has a bachelor's degree in legal studies from the University of Illinois and is completing her master's degree in leadership and management at Lincoln Christian University.

As the election authority, Litterly also reminds those wishing to run for office in 2010 that the filing period for the Feb. 2, 2010, primary election is Oct. 26 through Nov. 2.

Any candidate filing Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30 a.m. will be eligible for the ballot placement lottery. All forms necessary for filing must be completed, notarized, bound and ready for filing at that time.

If candidates have questions or would like assistance with filing, they may stop by the office any time to speak with an elections deputy prior to the filing date.
