[October 27, 2009]  The Lincoln College Rotaract chapter is pleased to announce its annual leaf raking event, which will be on Nov. 14. Offered as a free service to the community, appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment should contacting Michelle Bauer, the chapter's liaison, at 217-735-5050, ext. 294.

LC's Rotaract chapter, which is sponsored by Lincoln's Rotary Club, is aimed at attracting young men and women ages 18 to 30. One of its primary objectives is community enrichment.

"Sometimes it's the simplest things -- like raking leaves -- that make the biggest difference," said Michelle Williams, LC director of transition services, when announcing the return of the leaf-raking project. "The students and I are really excited to help our neighbors in this way every year!"

Rotaract members, as well as other LC student volunteers, will spend the day in service to the Lincoln community by raking, bagging and disposing of fallen leaves. The students are also available for light yard maintenance for up to 30 Lincoln residents.
