[September 08, 2009]  MOUNT PULASKI -- West Lincoln-Broadwell (7-4) pulled off a narrow come-from-behind win over Mount Pulaski in county tournament action at Mount Pulaski on Saturday.

WL-B was trailing 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but singles by Joey Olden, Daniel Hemenway, Brayden Curry and Kyle Fitzpatrick evened the score at 5-5. On a botched attempted squeeze play, Brayden Curry stole home to give the Wolverines a one-run victory, 6-5.

Olden had three hits on the day for WL-B. Fitzpatrick, Brock Byrge and Adam Conrady had two hits each for West Lincoln-Broadwell. Byrge had a double.

Olden pitched a complete game for WL-B to get the win on the mound, striking out eight MP hitters and allowing only five hits.

The county championship game between WL-B and C-EL was postponed due to rain.
