[September 16, 2009]  Dr. Katie Buskirk has joined the staff of the HOPE Mobile to help in providing dental services.

RestaurantBuskirk works full time as a dentist with Capitol Community Health Center in Springfield. She will be able to provide dental services to a backlog of patients who are on the current waiting list for the HOPE Mobile's dental program. Dental services were added to the HOPE Mobile about three years ago.

"I'm just really excited we're able to begin providing more kids and pregnant women with the care they've been waiting for," says Kristi Lessen, director of the Healthy Communities Partnership, which oversees the HOPE Mobile.

Buskirk joins Drs. Julio Morales and Leroy Gurga. The three take appointments for dental patients up to three days a month.

The HOPE Mobile is a component of the Healthy Communities Partnership, a collaborative organization comprised of dozens of community agencies and supported in part by the Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation.
