"The president of the United States said unequivocally that is not an issue that should prevent the start of negotiations," he said. Netanyahu added that dropping preconditions to talks along with Arab recognition of Israel as a Jewish state were the key to peace in the Middle East. In his U.N. speech Obama supported that goal, along with creation of an independent Palestinian state. "At the end of the day those are the most important things for peace," Netanyahu said.
