[September 24, 2009]  This spring a novel influenza virus first caused illness in Mexico and then the United States. Since the H1N1 flu outbreak began, the Logan County Department of Public Health has been preparing to address the threat of H1N1 flu beginning this fall, as well as seasonal flu.

The health department has set up a flu hot line to answer all of your questions regarding seasonal and the novel H1N1 influenza. The number is 217-735-2317, ext. 320. More information is also available at www.flu.gov.

The Logan County Department of Public Health has partnered with Lincoln Daily News to bring you flu facts on a weekly basis. This space will continue through the flu season to bring you up to date information on the influenza virus.
