Jerry Bauersachs, grand marshal
for homecoming at LCHS, is a retired educator with 34 1/2 years of
experience. He taught social studies for 11 years, served as a high
school principal for 15 years and as a superintendent of schools for
8 1/2 years. During his teaching years he taught students from
grades seven through junior college. He served as the principal of
Lincoln Community High School from 1994 to 1997 and more recently as
a substitute teacher and interim superintendent of LCHS during the
first semester of last year.

Bauersachs received
degrees from Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville and Illinois State University. After
retiring, he became active in Logan County Master Gardeners; serves
as a member of the steering committee of the Bike Trails Council for
Logan County, which is a chamber of commerce subcommittee; and is a
past president of the board of directors of the Humane Society of
Logan County.
He is married to Cheryl Bauersachs. She is retired from State
Farm Corporate, where she was a human resource specialist. They have
one daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons, who live in Hinsdale.
Jerry and Cheryl have enjoyed traveling and spending time with their
grandsons during retirement.
