 "Lincoln in Illinois" contains photographs of
Lincoln statues from around the state and includes commentary about
the sculptures by public figures, historians and others. The photos
were taken by Ron Schramm. The Abraham Lincoln Association published the
book in 2009 with a
grant from the Illinois Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission to
commemorate Lincoln's 200th birthday.
Distribution of nearly 1,250 copies of "Lincoln in Illinois" was
made possible by the Illinois Library Delivery Service, which is
supported by the Illinois State Library, the Consortium of Academic
and Research Libraries in Illinois, and the nine regional library
systems.
The Abraham Lincoln Association was organized in 1908 to
spearhead the celebration of Lincoln's 100th birthday. Today it
continues its mission to observe each anniversary of the birth of
Abraham Lincoln; to preserve and make more readily accessible the
landmarks associated with his life; and to actively encourage,
promote and aid the collection and dissemination of authentic
information regarding all phases of his life and career. For more
