[April 20, 2010]  Community Action Head Start asks Logan County to come together for children during the Week of the Young Child, April 11-17. As part of the Week of the Young Child celebrated across the country, the area Head Start program is honoring young children and all those who make a difference in children's lives.

Insurance"All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and Head Start has a great opportunity to do our part to help young children," said Marcia Hieronymus, education services manager. "Week of the Young Child is our time to recognize that early years are learning years for all young children."

Community Action Head Start classrooms in Logan County will be doing a variety of activities to celebrate, including visits to the Lincoln Public Library and a Spirit Week with themed dress-up days. Children will also be making a Community Action Head Start family book.

Young children and their families depend on high-quality education and care, which helps children get a great start and brings lasting benefits to Logan County. Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and early literacy, and to celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood education to young children.
