Rick Campbell, a member of the local band, said they gave Jim Ash a
copy at radio station WLCN 96.3, and Ash said he would play some of
their songs on the air. The CD has 12 songs; the first two are
originals and the other 10 are covers. The mission statement of
Shiftin' Gears is short but to the point: It is for their fans to
enjoy listening to their music as much as they enjoy bringing it to
them.
The band's promise is that they are dedicated to bringing only
the finest sound and performances to the stage.
Shiftin' Gears formed in April 2009. Dale Sherman, John Vincent
and Bobby Wood had already been performing under another name. They
lost two members of their band to Nashville. The band then picked up
Rick Campbell and then Michael Anderson to form the present group.
Shiftin' Gears plays a wide variety of music that people of all
ages can enjoy, from country to rock and from the music of the 1950s
to the sounds of today.
Rick Campbell said, "We are sure that, like most others who have
experienced our live performances, the only thing that will come to
mind is, "Where are they going to be playing next?"
The band looks forward to meeting their fans Friday night at
Logan Lanes, 1700 Fifth St. in Lincoln.
