[April 21, 2010]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn reported about $35,000 more in salary in 2009 than in 2008.

That's according to the governor's 2009 income tax returns, which he released Tuesday.

Last year, the Chicago Democrat earned almost $155,500 in salary. His earnings rose when he moved from the lieutenant governor's job to the governor's office after legislators forced Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office amid corruption allegations.

Quinn's 2008 returns claimed about $120,200 in wages.

His 2009 returns show Quinn paid more than $27,500 in federal and $4,400 in state income taxes. His property tax bill was about $3,200.

Quinn is criticizing state Sen. Bill Brady for not releasing his returns. Quinn says that raises questions about whether there's a conflict between Brady's business income and the Republican candidate's public interests.
