They have a huge assortment of annuals and perennials, plus vegetables and hanging baskets.

Their great deals include:

  • Four-pack annuals, $1

  • Perennials, $1

  • Geraniums, 6/$20

  • 10-inch hanging baskets, 3/$20

They have wave petunias, petunias, vinca, verbena, nemesia, begonia and dianthus in many different colors. Plus, there are several other plants to choose from. They have tomato plants and other garden plants as well.

Flowers will make a perfect gift for mom on Mother’s Day -- May 9.

The Quilters at Heart Quilt Guild will have their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 29. The meeting is at Trinity Episcopal Church, 402 Pekin St. in Lincoln. This week’s program is "help night." Members of the guild will share their expertise in various areas of quilting. For additional information, contact Stacie Wachtel: 309-533-1122, 217-732-7029 or staciewachtel@yahoo.com.

Allison Mayernick, a member of the Lincoln FFA chapter, received second place in the District 3 FFA Creed Speaking Career Development Event. Participants must recite the FFA Creed from memory and then, during a five-minute questioning period, answer questions dealing with their knowledge and understanding of the creed. Only freshman class agriculture education/FFA members are eligible to compete in the event.

Allison will now compete in the state-level event at Illinois State University in Normal on Saturday, May 1. Only the top 10 creed speakers in the state have the opportunity to compete in the state event. The state winner will recite the FFA Creed at the Illinois Association FFA State Convention, which will be June 8-10 at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

Congratulations, Allison! We are very proud of you! Good luck at state!
