- Sunday,
April 11th, 2010 was a special day in the history of Park Meadows Baptist
Church, in Lincoln Illinois.
The congregation celebrated the 35th anniversary of their Pastor being at
Park Meadows and honored him and his lovely wife, Rae Jean. Pastor S.M.
Davis and Rae Jean came to Lincoln in 1975 and have faithfully served God
and their church ever since. (Park Meadows was formerly called State Street
Baptist Church, but its name was changed to Park Meadows Baptist Church when
it moved to its current location on Memorial Park Road.)

Over the years Pastor Davis has been at Park Meadows, he has lead
the church in various ministries , such as Red, White, and Blue
Sunday honoring our public service workers, Christmas caroling to
the community, Reformers Unanimous (ministering to people with any
type of addiction), Youth Conference, Vacation Bible School, Radio
Broadcasts, and ministries to all age groups.
The various Sunday school classes made cards and posters thanking
the Davises for their 35 years of faithfulness. The teen Sunday
school classes gave Pastor & Mrs. Davis coupons for service at their
home.
During the morning service various ministries presented gifts to
Pastor Davis & Mrs. Davis. The Junior church children each gave
Pastor and Rae Jean a special gift. The teen department gave him a
beautifully framed picture of a pastor’s tools, signed by each
teenager. The church took an offering and gave them a beautiful
living room furniture suite.
After the evening service the teen girls served a dessert reception
prepared by church members.
Thank you, Pastor and Mrs. Davis, for faithfully following God’s
will, and serving our church and community members for 35 years. We
love you!
