for Lincoln is also planning a fundraising meal for Aug. 12 from 4
to 7 p.m. at the IGA parking lot. The menu is butterfly pork chops,
baked beans, corn and a roll. Tickets are $8 each. If you wish to
purchase tickets, please stop by the Jefferson Street Christian
Church office Monday-Friday, 9:30-11 a.m. or 1:30-3 p.m., or call
217-732-9294 during standard business hours.
This year's Together for Lincoln project date is Sept. 26.
Last year, over 1,100 volunteers worked together on around 100
projects ranging from construction to nursing home visitation.
The Sept. 26 project day will conclude with a community worship
service in the Lincoln Christian University Chapel at 7 p.m. Dr.
Robert Lowery, an author and longtime New Testament professor at
Lincoln Christian University, will speak on "A Dying Man's View of
the Book of Revelation."
