The Abraham Lincoln Association has announced a new addition to its
website,
www.abrahamlincolnassociation.org, to commemorate the
sesquicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's election as president and the
events leading to the Civil War. The "President Lincoln -- This Day
1860" button, marked with a stovepipe hat, gives website visitors
immediate access Abraham Lincoln's activities on the current date
150 years ago. On dates that have no corresponding entry, users
may access the "Lincoln Log" on the website to learn about President
Lincoln's activities on other dates.
The "Lincoln Log" and the "President Lincoln -- This Day 1860"
entries were developed by the Papers of Abraham Lincoln, an Abraham
Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum project that receives
support from the Abraham Lincoln Association.
The mission of the Abraham Lincoln Association is to observe each
anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln; to preserve and make
more readily accessible the landmarks associated with his life; and
to actively encourage, promote and aid the collection and
dissemination of authentic information regarding all phases of his
life and career.
