The
Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area reminds interested citizens
about the Wednesday, Dec. 1, public meeting in Lincoln to help

The Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition and the Abraham Lincoln Heritage Area
cover the same 42 counties of central Illinois and share a mission
to preserve, interpret and promote the heritage and culture of the
area. The current work of this newly designated Heritage Area and
its team is to create a management plan that will provide the
direction and framework for the future of the project. The meeting
is part of a series to be hosted over the next few months to enlist
the public's input for the plan. Other meetings are scheduled later
this week in Charleston and Vandalia.
Congratulations to Lincoln police officer Bob Rawlins, who is
stepping down from the Lincoln/Logan Crime Stoppers as their city adviser.
Besides his many official duties as a policeman, Rawlins has been
involved with the Lincoln/Logan Crime Stoppers for 23 years.
To thank Bob for his years of dedicated service, the Crime
Stoppers board will host a get-together for Rawlins on Wednesday
night, Dec. 1, at the Knights of Columbus. LDN also wants to thank
Rawlins for his years of dedication to the community and his
continued dedication as a Lincoln city police officer.
Trinity Episcopal Church will have a rummage sale Saturday,
Dec. 4, from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds from the sale go to local
charities that benefit Lincoln and Logan County. Trinity is located
at 402 Pekin in Lincoln. "Buck a Bag" starts at 11.
A reminder that Friendship Manor's Festival of Trees is
going on now through Saturday, Dec. 4. The event is open to the
public. Special meals are served nightly amidst decorated trees,
wreaths and swags that will be sold at a silent auction, with
proceeds to Lincoln and Logan County charities. The hours are 4-7
p.m.
