The 22nd annual Light Up A
Life campaign honoring and paying tribute to loved ones was held
last night at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. The night was cold, but the thoughts of those who
came were warm as they remembered a special person in their life by
purchasing a light on the front lawn of the hospital. Afterward,
the tradition of having chicken noodle soup or chili in the Lincoln
Room got everyone warmed back up.
The ceremony included the Rev. Robert Henderson,
hospital chaplain, giving the blessing, with campaign
chairwoman Joan Graue turning on the lights. Nikki Hamilton led
those gathered in songs of Christmas.
If you would like to remember
a loved one in this special way, donation forms are available in the
ALMH lobby, or you can call the Abraham Lincoln Healthcare
Foundation office at 732-5068 to have a form sent to your home.
