As of Dec 2, the Salvation Army’s Red
Kettle collection total is $6,210.30. That represents 10.3 percent
of the goal of $60,000, with 19 days of bell ringing left until the
close of the campaign on Christmas Eve.

Still on deck are several groups whose proverbial hats have been
thrown into the ring for the 2010 Red Kettle Club Challenge,
including Kiwanis, Lincoln Rotary, Trinity Episcopal, Open Arms
Christian Fellowship, Zonta, 4-H Wide Awake, the Leah-Mary First
United Methodist Circle and the Young United Methodist Men.
The individual bell ringer with the highest single kettle
collection total to date is Joe Funk with $250.05, followed by Jerry
and Karen Birdwell with $228.08, Miss Logan County with $225.44, Dr.
Carroll Richards with $202.38 and Michael Mikulski of Lincoln
Christian University with $177.69, a first-time effort!
The individual bell ringer with the most hours logged to date is
Steve Papesch, with 21 hours at a kettle already this season.
Last year's champion team was the Kroger's employee team.

There is still a need for many bell ringers to step up and man a
kettle. Each hour that a kettle is manned represents another family
that will be helped in 2011.
The Salvation Army has many, many openings to ring the bell,
especially on weekdays.
