"I am incredibly proud and thrilled for the kids," LCHS head coach
Katie Conant said. "We've got a lot of hard work and fine-tuning to
do this week, but the end result is worth all the hours." Sophomore
Shelby Voyles became regional champion in radio speaking, earning
straight first-place rankings from the judges in the final round.
In addition, sophomore Matt Mason and seniors Caiti Wunderlin and
Lorenda Kirby each qualified for sectionals in two events. Mason
took second place in extemporaneous speaking and third in impromptu
speaking.
Wunderlin earned second in original oratory and third in
oratorical declamation. Kirby finished in second place in prose
reading and teamed with Katy Langdon to take fourth place in
humorous duet acting.
Winners of the top four places in each event at the Centennial
Regional move on to sectionals at Charleston High School on Saturday
to compete with the sectional qualifiers from the Chatham Glenwood
and Harrisburg regionals.
Other students advancing to sectionals and the places they won in
individual events:

The LCHS group performance in the round also advanced to
sectionals
by earning second place. Participants are Adrienne Alley,
Elizabeth Dye, Samuel Filbeck, Tegan Follis, Olivia Graue, Kendall
Katz, Wyatt Phillis and Grace Sheley.

Langdon just missed qualifying for sectionals in poetry reading,
finishing in fifth place.
One participant, Sara Buchanan, was unable to participate due to
illness.
Lincoln finished in third place overall out of 13 teams in the
Centennial Regional.
