Mitch Ainger and Jake Karstetter also scored for the Blades, and
Beloit goalie Zach Dewar kicked aside 20 shots to aid Beloit in the
victory. The rest of the Blades are Rees Graves, Owen Larson, Jack
Cronin, Payne Mayfield, Zane Bastian, Taven Santucci and Alex Dewar.
All made major contributions for the team to advance.
The Blades are coached by Steve Dewar and Kermit Voie with help
from Todd Santucci and are managed by Jim Cronin.
Beloit now has a record of 19-10-3 and will play in the state
tournament at the Ozaukee Ice Center in Mequon during the March 6
weekend.
Former Lincoln resident Payne Mayfield is a starting defenseman
for the Blades. Mayfield has tallied a goal and five assists and has
led the team in breakups and deflections. Earlier this season he was
moved to center for a stretch when he was second in draws won. Payne
is also working out as the team's backup goalie and won his only
game between the pipes 8-3.
