"The big concern is how many people were living in a building like this?" Hanania said, adding that town officials planned to investigate. "This is one of the worst tragedies we've had here in 25 years," Hanania said. "I know everybody in the town of Cicero is just sick over this." Thirty-nine-year-old firefighter Dennis Shaun Ahrens suffered a head wound when a chimney collapsed on top of him during the blaze, and he remains in a hospital in guarded but critical condition, Assistant Fire Marshal Ted Kolin said. He was crazy about his boys," Simmons said. He was working on his GED at the Chicago Urban League. "He wanted to be someone that his boys could model themselves after," she said. Next door neighbor Esther Soto, 53, described 3-year-old Rayshawn Gist as a lovable boy. "He'll come and give you a hug, a kiss," Soto said.
