[February 17, 2010]  Over the weekend the men and women swimmers and divers of Lincoln College competed in the Region IV championships, hosted by Lincoln College. Both the men and women won over Iowa Central Community College and College of DuPage, with the women edging out Iowa Central by just seven points. It was a great day for the Lady Lynx!

InsuranceRegion IV and pool records were set by Daniel Corley in the 200 free and 100 free; Bryce Bohman in the 50 free, 100 back and 200 back; Patrick Walters, 500 free; Tyler Clingerman, 1-meter and 3-meter diving; Sandra Stopczynska, 100 breast and 200 breast; and the men's 200 and 400 medley relays, by Alex Madhuizen, Chris Canene, Bryce Bohman and Daniel Corley.

"This was a great chance to gauge where we are at this point in the season," said Jake Sexton, head coach of the team. "We really didn't swim that well and had to dig deep to pull out the victory. These wins truly were a testament to the team's desire to compete and win.

"We have two weeks until we leave for NJCAA national championships in Fort Pierce, Fla. That is when we see if the 6 1/2 months of training will pay off.

"In other news, former head coach Dan Hemenway will be inducted into the NCJAA Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame this year at our annual championship banquet. If you see Dan, please extend a congratulations. He is the first LC representative to be inducted into the HOF. This is a huge honor."
