The
city of Lincoln street department will be conducting their
annual Christmas tree pickup starting Jan. 11. All trees must be
free of all ornaments, lights, stands or wire. Have your tree
curbside before 7 a.m. on Jan. 11. Crews will canvass all wards at
that time.

Attention
all parents of high school students -– Lincoln Community High
School will host a FAFSA Completion Workshop at the
school's computer lab on Jan. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The
FAFSA is an online application that all college-bound students must
submit in order to obtain financial aid. LCHS will have financial
aid professionals available to help you complete the FAFSA and
answer your questions about financial aid for college. You may
attend the workshop at your convenience or call the counseling
office at LCHS, 217-732- 4131, ext. 235, to make an appointment. All
parents of college-bound students are welcome and invited to attend.
The
United Way of Logan County will have its annual meeting on
Monday, Jan. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the board room at the Farm Bureau
building in Lincoln.
The
Tree of Hope at Ace Hardware experienced another year of
generous support. Over $2,700 was raised for the Humane Society

The
HSLC's annual chili luncheon will be on Saturday, Jan. 16, at
Friendship Manor from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $6. If you would
