Mayfield, Kirk to join LCU Hall of Fame on Saturday

[January 27, 2010]  Lincoln Christian University will host its annual Hall of Fame activities on Saturday. Randy Kirk, former coach, and Jeff Mayfield, former coach and player, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining 24 individuals and two teams who are current members.

HardwareThe activities will include four basketball games, beginning Saturday morning at 9 with the women's alumni game. The men's alumni game will follow at 10:30 a.m. The current LCU women's team will host Mount Mary College at 1 p.m., and the men will play St. Louis Christian College at 3 p.m. All games will be played in the Laughlin Center.

There will be a luncheon in Henderson Hall at noon.

The public is invited to attend all of the games. The luncheon is by reservation only.

The induction ceremonies for Kirk and Mayfield will take place between the two afternoon games. The inductees have been selected by the Hall of Fame committee, based upon the following accomplishments:

  • Coaching record: 135-85

  • All-Americans coached: 3

  • NCCAA II National Player of the Year coached: 1
