State fair Mega Pass discount deadline Saturday

[July 09, 2010]  SPRINGFIELD -- Fairgoers wanting to experience the excitement of unlimited rides on the Carnival Midway and Adventure Village attractions at the Illinois State Fair can purchase a Mega Pass for $50 if they act quickly. The final day the pass will be sold for $50 is Saturday. After that, the price will increase to $60.

To purchase a pass, fairgoers should stop at the Emmerson Building, which is located on Main Street, north of Ethnic Village, at the fairgrounds in Springfield. The Emmerson Building is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It also will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for last-minute sales.

The Mega Pass is good for unlimited amusement rides in Adventure Village and the Carnival Midway for all 10 days of the fair, Aug. 13-22, and on Preview Night, Aug. 12. It does not, however, include entry to the fair or rides on the Tram, Sky Glide and Giant Slide.
